Everything You Need to Know about Clan Warfare
What Weapons/Armour Should I use?
We are going to start off with the essentials, your 'gear'. To be a successful Member your gear
should be dependent on the situation, i.e the rules, the location, the type of war
and in some cases, the clan you're against.
What Weapons/Armour Should I use?
We are going to start off with the essentials, your 'gear'. To be a successful Member your gear
should be dependent on the situation, i.e the rules, the location, the type of war
and in some cases, the clan you're against.
The Rules
The rules are going to tell your specifically what weapons and armour you can use,
and should always be where you look first when choosing your gear.
Here is an example of some Mini Warring rules:
1 Def Cap, Summoning Off, One Chaotic Weapon Only, No Overpowered(OP) Weapons, No Curses
Here is an example of Fullout rules:
All on.
1 Def Cap, this simply means all gear must require 1 def (on original RS).
No Overpowered Weapons, this means weapons like, Dragon Spear, Zaryte Bow, etc.
No Curses, No turmoil.
All on, this means anything and everything goes, aslong as you are with the stats. (35 def)
The Location
The Location of the war is also important when choosing what gear you're going to use.
If the war is going to be, for example, a PK Run In at Level 28 Hills
then you're not going to bringing your best gear however;
it is strongly advised that you bring one good item (ags, chaotics etc) for your Prayer that protects one item.
It will be down to you to watch for people smiting you and keeping you prayer up,
but I do feel if you can't do that then you should stop reading and close your browser now.
Sometimes a war might be held in Safe Clan Wars, this is when it gets fun!
When the war is in Safe Clan Wars you're free to bring your best gear, within the rules ofcourse.
Here are a few screen shots of some wilderness gear, and safe zone gear.
Safe Zone Gear
Bare in mind, you might not like my choices so feel free to switch items based on what you have
this is just a rough guide. This is my general Mini Warring gear, with this i can keep snipe freezes on other Members
while still being able to deal decent damage to piles... this is one of my preferred setups for when I'm calling
since I can move around the map a lot, whilst catching freezes, and keep an eye on whats going on.
This is my Master Maxx mage set up that I am most comfortable with when calling. Like the last set up I am freely able
to move around the map, since i have a decent Mage defence aswell, this lets me get an easy
scope on the map letting me pick out our easiest target.
This is commonly known as 'Nig Range', there should never be over 30/70 with magers.
Example, If you're in a 7v7 2 Nig Rangers would be the maximum.
However, for a 5v5 (depending on the circumstances, enemy teams, Members etc)
2 Nig rangers can be allowed.
You won't see me using this gear too often since I don't feel I have the best gear for it,
usually a Nig Range will have robin hat & boots, cosmic body etc.
Like I said, this is just an example and guideline for gear.
Fighting In The Wild
This is your basic wildy set up, using all three attacks styles so you can hybrid prayers and drop players faster.
In minis it's best if each Members plays a specific role in the mini, whereas when you're in the wild fighting
there are generally much more players so roles aren't needed, hence the tribrid.
Anti-Dragon shields will protect you from dragon bolt specs so you don't get banged out, they can be bought
at the 'Shopkeeper' in the general store in varrock centre (south of the fountain).
The Dragon scimitar, can be switched for your spec weapon of choice but for wildy because of the players
that are involved, a pray dropping weapon with 20+ Members next to you, is much better than a weapon
that is going to hit 24-22 off pray or 12-0 on pray.
Bank Setup
Whilst some of you may not think it, your bank set up is crucial for returning warfare (Wars in which you are
allowed to return to). Here is an example:
This was on a different server called Battlescape a long time ago. However; as you can see,
with good bank organization you can gear up and teleport to the war in under 20 seconds
and have room for a few mistakes. All of your banks should be similar to this, if you're a maxed pure
with turmoil and 35 defence.
If you're a 1 defense then nig ranging isn't for you in full outs so they don't need to be
in the first section of your bank since you'll be needing that for other items.
Here is my bank on my account, a Level 88 pure with 1 defense.
This setup is my personal set up so you're free to move around items and replace whatever suits you best. For me,
I am a brid so my bank lets me gear up and return to easts in seconds, since i am a low level i will always be maging
in Wildy wars, so i'll still be able to return fast.
Before going on a trip, make sure you know where you have to return to, take a minute or two to make sure your bank is right,
do this by banking all your stuff and gear up with out scrolling down on your mouse. Then you'll know your bank is fine.
Also, make sure you've spoken to the Leaders and callers, and make sure you're 100% on how and where you're returning to the fight from.
